- Open the Microsoft Download Center page.
- Download the file named “Show or hide updates troubleshooter” to your computer.
- Double-click the file named “wushowhide.diagcab” to launch the tool.
- Click on the Next button. Wait for the process.
- Select the option to Hide updates.

2023-09-05T20:14:14+00:00 I have tried all of this many times. My PC i'm using as a server (just running windows 11) and my laptop BOTH have this issue. Neither has been able to install the primary updates for MONTHS. Only the security updates and the like. I can't reformat these, ESPECIALLY not the server rig. I've ran system file checker, windows update troubleshooter, tried manually shutting down the updates, nothing works. Reformatting shouldn't be a solution when you can't figure out what's wrong. There's only so many ways this can break, and it flat out makes no sense.
