Many persistent errors in Event Viewer after Windows 11 build 22598.ni_release.220408-1503: "Autopilot.dll wil error was reported"

I used to be part of the the Windows 11 Insider Beta channel. After updating to build 22598.ni_release.220408-1503 I began to see the same error in Event Viewer extremely frequently:

The errors are all the same and read as follows:

Autopilot.dll WIL error was reported.

HRESULT: 0x80070491

File: onecoreuap\admin\moderndeployment\autopilot\dll\dllmain.cpp, line 128

Message: NULL

I have never used any program called Autopilot or Modern Deployment. After seeing this problem I immediately left the insider program and am now queued for enrollment. However no new Windows update has happened and these errors persist. How do I prevent these errors?

    I had the same problem and could fix it. I made a BIOS update 2 days ago. Since then the error didn't re-appear. Maybe its a solution for somebody.

    I'm running on a 3-4 year old Dell Inspiron 3670 Desktop, Intel Core i3-8100 CPU & Intel UHD Graphics 630. Had a couple of issues, this & WaasMedic, but in both cases, (touch wood), to a lesser degree than other users. Apparently, a BIOS update is available, not updated. Always told by my Gurus, that you only update BIOS if some app or something calls for an update to be installed. If it works, don't mend it - old adage.

    Hello;

    Same problem since 1 year, on a 1 year old pc.

    On w10 as on w11, all components have been checked, bios and drivers updated.

    Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant doesn't change anything, it's ****.

    Maybe the problem is not software but hardware.

    I share my sepc with you and see if we have any in common.

    With me, was something to do with August 2022 monthly Windows updates. Installed on 10th August, Error first appeared after restart of computer following actual installation. No previous records prior to that exact time. I'm still on version 10 of Windows Home, all I get is log entries but does not appear to have adverse effect on performance as being reported by other people. Get perhaps a dozen instances during each boot commencing exactly timed as ON button pushed. From there-on, during that session, large majority of instances occur each time MS Edge opened (2-3 times each open). Appears to be more pronounced on Windows 11 hence not upgrading yet until resolved.
