Windows 11 is keep installing the wrong AMD driver

I installed the proper version on the amd website with auto detect and windows 11 is keep installing the old driver which is causing graphics problems. How to stop this ?

Thank you so much W0nd3rwi3ss - a brilliant idea and this has finally stopped Windows Update from putting that horrible old driver from 2021 in place of my shiny new AMD provided driver. Next I need to work out how to stop Dell's Support Assistant software from offering to update to their approved driver as well but at least that is only offering the driver and isn't forcing it on me (so I just ignore it).

This was one of our fixes too, but we found that it hasn't worked from 23.3.1 and upwards for us (AMD version numbers). It's definitely an AMD issue as much as Windows, we were just hoping to see if there was something we missed (as 11 isn't a core product for us). Everything else on the W11 systems has been perfect. However, Not being able to pick and choose the updates manually is keeping us from stopping this neatly. Our insider build boxes also don't have it yet either. One of the things we've really, really missed from 10.

2023-04-03T08:49:53+00:00 Hi, I tried this solution with 23.3.2 on a freshly setup Win 11 (Home version) installation. If it's not working for you, when Windows asked the reason why you wanted to roll-back to the brand new Radeon drivers, if you've correctly selected that the Windows Update provided drivers stopped the app from working, I'd try doing it again exactly as described (although it worked first time for me - the only solution that has so far).
If Windows Update reinstalls the same old driver that stops your apps/games from functioning, then that's another issue to take up with Microsoft (and good luck with that). If it tries installing a different Radeon driver, then I'd go through the same process of black marking any Windows Update provided drivers you don't want untill it lets you keep the AMD provided version - if only because Windows Update has run out of alternatives.
