just simply do this one time after it automatically updated to its wrong version. boom now it's never gonna roll back to that previous wrong AMD Adrenaline edition. it keeps with a working version of yours. ps: don't reply to me :)

I installed the proper version on the amd website with auto detect and windows 11 is keep installing the old driver which is causing graphics problems. How to stop this ?

2023-07-06T05:09:53+00:00 I've not experienced Windows Update failing to install new drivers that Windows later goes on to install in the background so I can't replicate this specific problem. I'm surprised to read that it's even possible.
On my laptop what I did was a totally fresh Win 11 installation (using the Windows Media Creation Tool) and then installed the Dell drivers then the AMD Radeon Drivers then ran Windows Update manually and it went ahead and installed it's own old Windows Update drivers. I was able to blacklist those drivers as described earlier in the thread and the problem has never returned for me.
I shouldn't have needed to jump through these hoops in the first place but I suspect it's because Microsoft wants to give OEMs (such as Dell and HP etc) greater control to not have 'untested by the OEM' drivers used on these OEM devices.

2023-06-09T04:08:34+00:00 No I haven't because the steps seem not applicable to my issue. The steps mentioned installing all the drivers from Windows Update. In my case, all my drivers aren't detected by WU and were just being installed by Windows silently in the background so WU won't be able to install the wrong drivers. I'm not sure how this is still happening since I already barred Windows from doing it by disabling this option. The drivers that Windows is installing for my laptop model are not even available on the HP website.

2023-06-08T20:35:06+00:00 I am having this problem up to this date. I would install the right driver for the Adrelin to work but Windows will eventually install a driver silently without me knowing.
There's a solution posted by W0nd3rwi3ss a little earlier on in this thread and it worked a treat for me. Have you tried following the steps mentioned to 'blacklist' the Windows Update provided drivers and then reinstalling the ones you want?
