Hi,

I am using the latest version of Windows 11 and I have found it out that the App & Browser Control is missing in the Windows Security. Although it is shown in settings but in the app its completely missing after the update. When I clicked it there is no response for it. Kindly check it in your system too and help me out. I am on my Windows 11 Beta version.

Settings>System>Recovery> Reset PC, did a complete reinstall, removing everything and reinstalling Windows.

When you did this Reset PC, did you download from the cloud or reinstall locally?

That is not what I was asking, when you do a reset PC it gives the choice for reinstalling from the existing local disk or downloading from the Cloud with the latest updates, it takes much longer because you have to download 4GB of data, but possibly it is an updated version rather than the one you already have.

Anyway, USB sticks are really cheap, you should get one and use it for clean installs or update/repair in place. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

I never liked the Reset PC, because I had many problems before with it, and other times it just did not work at all as it should.

I just mentioned Registery as a list of issues I have, don't worry.

Yes, I used the included Reset menu on Windows Recovery tool to format my computer.
I opted in for Clean it all and Hard write up, also opting in for Downloading Windows from cache online beforehand instead of using the current Windows on this session.

About " Resetting Windows Security App ", I was talking about Installed Applications on the Settings app.

Sorry If I wasnt clear enough.

What is clear from the results you reported, is that the procedure you used is not working.

A clean install using the MS USB media 22621.525 created with the Media Creation Tool from the MS site worked just fine.

It is up to you to give it a try or just keep getting the problems you are having. πŸ˜ŽπŸ€£πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

Just for a test I tried the Reset this PC procedure, and it takes forever, after downloading from the cloud it started Resetting this PC and got stuck at 22% for a very long time. Finally, it moved to 38% and then 68%, but it seems to take forever. I see the disk activity, but it is taking an eternity to finish. 🀬 Finally rebooted and started installing and again it was taking a long time to move 9%, 24%, 48% reboot...84% then "Just a moment" message with spinning dots, rebooting again and finally started asking the account name to complete the install.

One more reason why I never use "Reset this PC" procedure. It sucks. πŸ€£πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Anyway, at the end of this painful process the windows security was working fine with "App & browser control" and "Smart app control" set in Evaluation mode because I just did a clean install which came up at build 22621.819.

I have no idea why you had all those problems, everything worked fine here except for the long time wasted. 😝🀣

A clean install using the USB media is much quicker and painless. πŸ˜‰
