Hi,

I am using the latest version of Windows 11 and I have found it out that the App & Browser Control is missing in the Windows Security. Although it is shown in settings but in the app its completely missing after the update. When I clicked it there is no response for it. Kindly check it in your system too and help me out. I am on my Windows 11 Beta version.

I only got 2207 folder. Interesting thing is, both two laptops got 2207 folder, all they installed is 21H2, 22000.1098, but only one missing the app and broswer control

2207 contains this one which is for 22H2, maybe one machine has that folder, but it was not actually installed. 😎

An easy way to check what is actually installed is by using this Power Shell command below and it will show which version is actually running.

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -allusers | Select Name, PackageFullName

    Image

The correct one for 21H2 was in 2109 and it was showing 1000.22000.251.0 as per the snapshot below:

Anyway, in your case if you upgrade to 22H2 you should be fine.

    Edit:

I just checked on my 21H2 system and it had both updates, 2109 and 2207. That is why it was missing App and browser control. 🀣🀣

It depends on which of the 2 is actually installed and running.

At the time I still had 21H2, I fixed it by removing the 2207 folder and reinstalling the correct version using the .appx in the 2109 folder.

Yet, here is what it had on a second 21H2 system with all 4 updates, you can see the dates when W.U. screwed up and downloaded them.

Only the 2109 is the valid one for 21H2 πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

This is what is installed on 21H2 after a clean install before it gets any updates, SecurityHealth folder is completely empty:

the app/browser link in the app is just missing that is all, as has been said typing in app in the start menu will bring it up and you select it and activate it, job done.

    This fixed it!!

I recently did a clean Win 11 home 21H2 build 22000.856 install, and everything went well except for the windows security "action needed" notification. When I opened Win Security, nothing needed attention; however, I noticed the App and Browser Control section was missing. I typed in "App" in the Windows start menu, and the "App and Browser Control" section in system settings popped up. I clicked on it and turned on the "Reputation-based protection," and the "action needed" warning disappeared.

    Fixed what?

App & browser control are still missing from this page in latest 22000.978 Build and also 22000.1041.

Microsoft still did not fix the problem on current public build 21H2, they only fixed it in 22H2 Builds.

Try start - search - app & browser control, select turn on - cleared the error

    It has worked for me.
