I only got 2207 folder. Interesting thing is, both two laptops got 2207 folder, all they installed is 21H2, 22000.1098, but only one missing the app and broswer control
Missing "App & Browser Control" in Windows Security in Windows 11 OS Build 22621.1
Hi,
I am using the latest version of Windows 11 and I have found it out that the App & Browser Control is missing in the Windows Security. Although it is shown in settings but in the app its completely missing after the update. When I clicked it there is no response for it. Kindly check it in your system too and help me out. I am on my Windows 11 Beta version.

2022-10-23T10:04:21+00:00 I prefer do not use command prompt. I just wanna know if I update to 22H2, and the securityhealth folder version is correct, will the bug auto fixed? From my understanding, MS pushed a wrong update to 21H2 which only suit for 22H2. Thus the bug should automaticly gone when I update system to 22H2 right?
You could still have a problem if you already received 2208 and/or 2209 updates.
Check the folder I told you earlier to see what you have in there. How difficult is that?
If you only have 2109 and 2207 then yes, updating to 22H2 will fix the bug, but if you also have 2208 and/or 2209 you are out of luck and updating to 22H2 will not fix the problem, it will just create a new one, where "Smart App Control" is missing from "App and browser control" screen.
With 22H2 you should see this in the snapshot below, but if you have 2208 and or 2209 updates it will be missing. That is the second bug that was added in 22H2 with the wrong updates. π€£π€·ββοΈ

2022-10-23T06:58:06+00:00 I'm still waiting fot MS to push a update to fix the problem for 21H2. However, seems half year passed, MS did not do anything, maybe they think everyone should get 22H2 then they just leave the bug with 21H2
MS never came back with a response to the FBH reports about the bug.
On my machines I had to fix the problem myself on both 21H2 and 22H2.
Windows Security Version 1.0.2109.22007-0 was good for 21H2, and 1.0.2207.22002-0 was good for 22H2 but was breaking 21H2. π€£π€£π€£
There was also 1.0.2208.16003-0 and 1.0.2209.22001-0 which were downloaded by mistake and caused problems on both 21H2 and 22H2.
Those should be removed as well. Use "rmdir /s foldername" from a recovery cmd prompt to delete the bad folder(s) and the contents
You can fix the problem assuming you have the proper version for 21H2 or 22H2 still available.
Can you check what you have on the folder
C:\Windows\System32\SecurityHealth ?
The problem can be fixed by removing the folder with the wrong version and reinstalling the correct one with the .appx contained in the correct one.
Also you will need to "del the SecurityHealthSetup.exe" that is in the same SecurityHealth folder, otherwise that may reinstall the wrong version after you fix it. π€π
