My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

I am using dell inspiron 5509 iam facing the same issue after updating to windows11. If the jack is connected while the system is rebooting it is detected. If i plug the jack when the system is on it is not getting detected. When I was using win 10 I was not having this issue.
I reinstalled Windows 11 and chose the option to keep all apps and files. This had no effect whatsoever. The Dell tech suggests a complete reinstall which would mean I would need to reinstall each and every app I have. I'm not willing to take that drastic step without any assurance from anyone that that will fix the problem. It seems as if it's a Windows 11 problem that Microsoft is not willing to address.

Basically 99% of this thread is about Dell computers (not restricted to inspiron laptops only, it also affects other dell computers), which is explained by this Dell FAQ:

Dell support has so far proved to be absolutely useless on this issue.
As I said earlier, the entire thread is about Dell computers across multiple product lines (not just inspiron). XPS, Vostro, Alienware and latitude are also affected.
This is a Dell issue, not a Microsoft issue,.
Jez doesn't know what he is talking about and repeatedly give out the incorrect information. All he did was cut and paste the same post over and over again. As the last dell knowledge base article stated, windows doesn't have the ability to manage analog microphones --- which he incorrectly thinks that it means windows 11 doesn't support headset mic. You manage it by going to your audio chipset's configuration app (realtek audio console or realtek hd audio manager or dell audio app or dell optimizer or waves maxxaudio pro or hp audio app or b&o audio app).
