My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

Microsoft have confirmed to me that Windoes 11 DOES NOT headsets with a mic via the 3.5mm jack plug. Headsets wiyh mic only supported via USB port.

Massive frustration after being told a load of rubbish on how to get the 3.5mm jack to work with mic.

Dont waste your time.... it wont.

Same issue with Dell XPS 9520. I've tried everything BUT reinstalling Windows 11. I even had motherboard and audio jack daughter board replaced but to no avail.

Does anyone know if a Windows 11 reinstall will definitely fix this issue? It's a bit of a drastic step if it doesn't work.

Headphone jack isn't working, will only pick up the headphones if it is plugged in when rebooting, but only for output, it won't pick up the microphone with my headset.
