My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

I had the same problem until I enabled "RtkAudUService64" under startup apps, using ctrl+alt+del to find that.

So hopefully that works for you!

I have been having issues with my Dell LAttitude 7440. Basically a pop up appeared and asked what was the device, I made a mistake and clicked the wrong thing and I also ticked not to ask again.

Everytime I plug the device its recognized as a Line in- the app is called Dell Optimizer. Click on Audio and you will find the option to enable pop up again, re insert your device and it will ask again- this time indicate it as a headphone jack. Worked for me!

There's no issue with your jack OR your hardware. I had Dell replace my jack (still did not work correctly) and then they replaced the motherboard for another issue and my jack still functions the same as yours.

Hi, I tried the above measures but none of them worked for me. I guess there is some issue with my audio jack of my laptop. My headphone works on plugging them and rebooting my system but as soon as they are unplugged ,they won't work until the system is restarted again which is too annoying. Kindly, help me with this.

    System Manufacturer- Dell Inc.
    System Model- Inspiron 15 3530
