Headphone Jack not Recognized in Windows 11

My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

    Microsoft have confirmed to me that Windows 11 DOES NOT support the microphone on headsets with a mic via the 3.5mm jack plug. The mic is on headsets with mic is only supported via USB port.

    Massive frustration after being told a load of rubbish on how to get the 3.5mm jack to work with mic.

    Don't waste your time.... the mic wont work on the 3.5 jack.

    Solution either buy USB headset (the mic will work then) or buy an adapter to convert your headset to USB (they are about £7 on Amazon)

    Hi,

    I have been assured that on Windows 11 the 3.5mm jack will only support headphones (ie without a mic) and speakers etc.

    It is only the microphone which is not supported by the 3.5mm jack on Win 11.

    If your issue is about headphones (without a mic) and speakers then this particular issue is not really relevant to your problem.

    Thanks for the reply. My issue only concerns headsets and external speakers being plugged into the jack. They work fine if they a plugged in when the computer boots but are no longer recognized when unplugged and plugged back in.

    Are you saying that the jack itself is not supported in Windows 11??

    Headset with mic only supported via usb port in Win 11. Give up on the 3.5mm jack. It wont work.
