Headphones worked and were detected on front panel jack before Windows 11. They still are not detected anywhere now, but they work using front jack when enabling the moththerboard/realtek speaker option in sound settings. I use my sound card speakers normally (Soundblaster Z SE) but, I need to change to headphones in Soundblaster Command center. Hope this helps.
Headphone Jack not Recognized in Windows 11
My Headphone Jack no longer works after upgrading to Windows 11. It works if I have it plugged in and reboot, but as soon as I unplug it stops until a reboot....it does not automatically detect it

2023-11-17T13:47:11+00:00 I had the same issue as everyone else here, when headphones weren't detected and reboot was needed. Those steps helped me:
- Open "Services"
- Find "Realtek Audio Universal Service"
- Open "Properties" of "Realtek Audio Universal Service" (right click it and select "Properties")
- Open "Log On" tab
- Tick "Allow service to interact with desktop"
- Click "Apply" button
Hope it will help you as well.

2023-08-10T14:43:27+00:00 The only solution that worked for me:
1/
Download "Realtek HD Audio Manager" https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/pc-audio-codecs-high-definition-audio-codecs-softw...
2/
Start Dell Audio "RtkNGUI64.exe" in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hdxrt.inf_amd64_b0026a592e9b4de4
3/
Select the last tab (advanced)
Select Plug info
Click on the radio button with no name
Select the right device (headset with mic)
From time to time (each restart or OS update?), you will have to start-over to point 2. This is why I put a shortcut on my desktop to the Dell Audio program...

2023-06-17T16:44:30+00:00 I had the same issue as everyone else here: plugged-in headphones would only work if there were plugged-in when the computer booted. If plugged they would not be detected again until after a restart.
What worked for me:
- Go to "Settings"
- Go to "Apps"
- Go to "Startup"
- Turn ON Waves MaxxAudio Service Application
- Restart your computer and plug/unplug/re-plug your headphones: everything should work now.
I don't have the MaxxAudio Service - and after reading its reviews and seeing how often people complain about it slowing everything down, not sure I want to install it. I'll be curious to know if others have good results with this?
It works for me yee!!!!

2023-04-19T17:52:03+00:00 I reinstalled Windows 11 and chose the option to keep all apps and files. This had no effect whatsoever. The Dell tech suggests a complete reinstall which would mean I would need to reinstall each and every app I have. I'm not willing to take that drastic step without any assurance from anyone that that will fix the problem. It seems as if it's a Windows 11 problem that Microsoft is not willing to address.
