Pc BSOD or random freeze/rebooting with no real cause.

Memtest86 can run overnight.

Run two tests of four passes each (total eight passes).

Already ran memtest and no issues were found, i ran driver verifier again and no violation there… but still bsod. I’m starting to think it could be the psu (?) what do you think?

That would explain why this happens only when the pc is at idle with low power demand and it’s totally random, no real way to trigger the bsod (?)

Or could it be ram that only fails randomly in windows and it’s not picked up by memtest? Really don’t know at this point. Unfortunately I don’t have spare parts to try… would need to buy everything

If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

Run these settings for 24 hours

At any time there is a BSOD > post a new V2 into the newest post

If there are no BSOD after 24 hours then turn off the tool.

Any additional testing will be hardware.

Check with friends, neighbors, relatives, and local computer stores for the availability of components for swap testing.

Also check Amazon and other retailers.

Just to give it a shot I’m looking for some new ram. Would you recommend 3200 or 3600mhz for the i9 9900k? (Just a 7 euro difference for me on amazon)

Look at the specifications for the CPU and Motherboard.

Purchase RAM that is supported by the above specifications.
