For those who don't want to play with powershell, admin privileges etc etc.

Simply open Microsoft Store, click My Library (bottom left), click Get Updates (top right). That's it.

The solution isn't Reset OR Repair from within the app and the solution is NOT to hit Update from within the app (the updater doesn't work). You need to follow one of 2 steps (outlined in earlier posts):

    1. Powershell process removal of the app on your PC, then reinstall through the Microsoft App Store
    2. Through Windows Start, then Microsoft Store, then bottom left icon Library (above help), then hit Get Updates top right. You'll see your version of Phone Link change from the one ending in 136.0 to 554.0 and that one the links finally open like they should

    Microsoft fixed the issue

You must install the latest Microsoft updates to your PC. This includes the app store updates.

Also, update your phone and the windows link app

Remove and reconnect via qr code and Bluetooth to your PC using the windows phone app link and it'll should work for you.
