For those who don't want to play with powershell, admin privileges etc etc.
Simply open Microsoft Store, click My Library (bottom left), click Get Updates (top right). That's it.

2022-06-01T01:19:43+00:00 I've done all this multiple times. It doesn't work. It worked for a while but stopped working at all even for a little while. It's a broken app and MSFT needs to fix it.

2022-05-30T15:18:00+00:00 I switched from 15+ years of Mac use to Windows about 5 or 6 months ago. I also switched to Android phone. I've mostly enjoyed it but the SMS messaging from desktop is probably the single most important program to me after a web browser. I use messaging more than email even.
I had completely extricated myself from the Mac ecosystem iphone, ipad, AppleTV, photos, music, movies) I'm in the process of switching back. If they can't fix this relatively simply feature I'm not sure what to say.
Painful to switch back but this is at least 6 weeks old.

I am not sure that it is a Win11 problem, I seem to remember links working on my Surface Book with W11 up until a recent update for Phone Link. However I am not an expert.
