WIFI 6 (Mediatek MT7921) disconnects randomly

I just finished building a new pc and installed all the appropriate drivers and software. I have a WIFI 6 router which I have had for a while now and never had any issues with and the motherboard I am using is the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard. It utilizes the Mediatek MT7921 WIFI card.

The WIFI will randomly disconnect but it says its still connected. Oddly enough I can still load Google and Youtube but nothing else and even then that is intermittent and extremely slow.

Drivers: Ive tried updating, rolling back, deleting and fresh install. no dice

Settings: Ive tried disabling IPV6, Changing from AX to AC to N, etc, Disabled the Bluetooth since its the same adapter. no dice.

Ive even checked to see on another device if my pc is connected to my router while its in this disconnected state and it shows that its connected to my router but it will not connect properly to the internet. I have not had this issue with any other device on my network so I am to conclude that it is most likely to do with this new pc and this Mediatek WIFI Adapter.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    I did a test with more than one PC, and they show this behavior as well. In Device Manager, it shows the latest version, and in troubleshooter, it shows an older version. I don't believe this has anything to do with the problem. As far as I know, the version shown in Device Manager is the one that matters.

    What is the Wi-Fi signal strength on your computer?

    I see that the motherboard comes with an external antenna. Is this correct?

    Is the antenna in an open position? Away from the computer case, monitor and etc.?

    I suggest you change the Wi-Fi channel in the router settings. See if changing the channel improves the situation or fixes it.

    I have 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz connections both have good signal. The 2.4Ghz has better signal but that is to be expected since the 2.4 has a longer range. The antenna is connected and is mounted on the wall away from the tower behind the monitors. The monitors are not in between the router and the antenna. I have tried both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz channels and I still have the same problem on both frequencies. I am still leaning toward a software issue due to the fact that I am still connected to the router and it says I'm connected to the internet on both the router and on my pc but like I think I've stated before when it goes into this semi connected state I can only load a few websites. for example YouTube and google but I cant load any pages from google but I can play videos from YouTube.

    I just tried changing my DNS server addresses under the IPv4 properties. I'll let you know if this works.

    I changed my preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8

    and Alternative to 8.8.4.4

    Fingers crossed.
