WIFI 6 (Mediatek MT7921) disconnects randomly

I just finished building a new pc and installed all the appropriate drivers and software. I have a WIFI 6 router which I have had for a while now and never had any issues with and the motherboard I am using is the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard. It utilizes the Mediatek MT7921 WIFI card.

The WIFI will randomly disconnect but it says its still connected. Oddly enough I can still load Google and Youtube but nothing else and even then that is intermittent and extremely slow.

Drivers: Ive tried updating, rolling back, deleting and fresh install. no dice

Settings: Ive tried disabling IPV6, Changing from AX to AC to N, etc, Disabled the Bluetooth since its the same adapter. no dice.

Ive even checked to see on another device if my pc is connected to my router while its in this disconnected state and it shows that its connected to my router but it will not connect properly to the internet. I have not had this issue with any other device on my network so I am to conclude that it is most likely to do with this new pc and this Mediatek WIFI Adapter.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I tried doing that, but when I uninstall the device, the device completely disappears from the device manager. Is there some way to install the new drivers without selecting that device itself?

Edit: On further inspection, the device disappears from the network adapters menu into "other devices", and I have installed the downloaded driver now. After the automatic reinstall I mentioned before, the device manager said it was using this one at first, but then after another restart without removing the driver it changed to another version I'd tried which was causing BSODs. Hopefully this will work now.

Hi, I hope that works for you. In my experience the automatic drivers are like 100% bad. It's really a shame. As for the process I described, usually the device will reappear if you click the icon which says "scan hardware changes." But it looks like you've got it figured out. Hopefully, it won't revert back to the other driver and mess up again.

Haha, I'm glad that it helped! For some reason my computer ran into the problem again at one point... I did the same thing and it's working again... So I don't know if my computer updated the driver or what... the whole thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense... There is no reason why updated drivers provided through Microsoft and the computer manufacturers should not work... but that's what seems to be the problem.

No dice. I've given it the same grace period as any other driver I've tried installing, new and old alike, and it's started misbehaving again. It is definitely this driver. Even after I tried uninstalling the device (and selecting the option to delete all driver software on the PC), and then reinstalling that driver manually, the device manager said the driver couldn't be installed because of the code 10 error. I restarted the PC, and it automatically reinstalled that same driver again (I'm pretty sure it's the only driver for that device left on my PC at this point), and it's working again for now. But this is currently looking like exactly the same pattern of behaviour as with other drivers I've tried. It starts off okay and gradually deteriorates over time. From what you've said here I feel like you may be experiencing that same issue and just don't know it yet.
