Windows Script Host error in AppData\Local\Updates\Run.vbs , Line: 31 , Char: 1 . The System cannot find the file specified .

I have this error that comes up on Startup . and i don't know how to fix it . Is it a dangerous error or is it not so threatening please ? and how can i fix this ? i only started to see this error like from yesterday .

    I've been trying with your method because my Microsoft Defender cannot be activated, but sadly it is still not working, any idea why?

    No idea. Without seeing your logs, it's impossible to tell what has gone wrong. But the Run.vbs malware totally wipes out Defender.

    this method is working but

    why system give that error message?

    The error was triggered by a malicious scheduled task entry named "Window Update".

    Download Malwarebytes and run a full scan.

    And then do the following:

    From admin Command Prompt, run these four commands:

    del "%LocalAppData%\Updates\Run.vbs"

    schtasks /delete /tn "\Window Update" /f

    schtasks /delete /tn "\Windows Service Task" /f

    rd /s /q "%LocalAppData%\Updates"

    Pls post a screenshot of the output window.

    Note: Microsoft Defender needs to be fixed after doing the above. The Run.vbs virus would have deleted Defender in most cases.

    Thank your for the screenshot, right click that entry that is red and delete it

    Then, restart your PC
