How can I turn off the sync function my Microsoft account from my windows 11 laptop?

I really want to un sync my windows 11 laptop from my desktop computer connected with the same Microsoft account. Every time I delete something on my laptop to free up space I don’t want it to be deleted from desktop. How do I change this? Please and thank you for your time.

    same, they just remove it. we are not dummies. If there is still I way, give as a command line command to use. It could be a 2m fix

    The Subject here is how we can turn off sync, not nececery OneDrive itself. They may use that to store our settings, yet we still want a clean uninstall and not carry out old settings. We need a switch, which I think we had.. before

    can not turn off syncing

    i push it to off but it stays on.

    Here is how i did, I was able to open the OneDrive settings from the bottom right of my screen and i was able to manage my sync from there on! Hope it Helps...
