Windows 11 - "No such interface supported" error when opening an xml file to edit - should open in Code Writer.

I have just installed the latest Windows 11 patch and now my xml files show with a PDF image next to them. The application setting is set to automatically open with Code Writer so the image should be the Code Writer image not PDF. When I try to open it I get the error message "No such interface supported". I can open Code Writer and then open the file from within Code Writer.

How can I fix this please. I am not very computer literate, so a step by step solution would be appreciated.

    Hello GlyndwrB,

    I also got the same error when I open a pdf file using Drawboard software. I noticed that this error only occurred when I opened files that are in my Onedrive file. If I copied the file to my desktop it works Ok. Also, opening the pdf using Edge browser works perfectly. It does seem to be an issue with some changes in Windows 11 and the applications need to be updated to accommodate it.

    James,

    Just tried it and it did not work. At this point the only things I have not tried yet are editing the registry resetting my Windows 11. I've hesitated to mess with Windows but maybe that's where I need to go.

    I've updated all my apps and it did not work. I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling and that did not work either.

    FIX :

    Reset all your defualt apps, like word to open txt files, for an example, do that for everything and it will work :)
