Why is file explorer asking for a sign in?

hi Eric could you share by unchecking, apart from not having that annoying sign in, what happens? you mean all our files are stored on office.com even when we save locally?

I'm still getting messages from windows complaining about the account even after I deselected to show me Office.com files.

This message is really bugging me and the account they are asking for is the same that File Explorer was complaining about. How to remove the account (work account from previous job) for good on my computer so that no other application in the windows 11 environment requests it?

How to Remove ‘Please Sign in’ from Windows 11 File Explorer

In case, you want don’t want to see “Please Sign in” in the File Explorer in Windows 11, then here’s how you can remove it as well.

In the File Explorer, you need to click on the (…) and select Options from the menu.

In the Folder options window, you need to head over to Privacy section. Under this, you will see a option that reads “Show files from Office.com“, uncheck the same option.

YES! THANK YOU !!! It was driving me mad. It took me a couple of minutes to find the privacy section for some reason. It's at the bottom of the "general" window, i.e. (...)/options/general/privacy - at the bottom of that "options" window.
