win 11 22h2 update printer issue

After updating older machines (2 yrs old) to the new version of windows 11(had previous version of windows 11 installed) or setting up new machines purchased earlier this month that have the new version of windows 11 installed I am no longer able to add printers from my print server. The error message I get is:

Operation cannot be completed (error 0x00000709). Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network. Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there a fix???

    OK guys... I feel for those that continue to have issues with connecting to a shared printer from a Windows 11 client. Shame on MS.

    For what its worth.... I installed Win 11 Pro on 2 more laptops today (Lenovo T460S and a Lenovo X1 Carbon. After setting up the network and joining the network group, setting up sharing etc... both computers failed with "Couldn't connect to shared printer" even though the printer could be "seen" by both.

    The only change I made was to apply the suggestion made earlier. See below.

    The supplied suggestion:

    Start => Search => Local Group Policy Editor => Computer Configuration => Administrative Templates => Printers => Configure RPC connection settings => Enabled => RPC over named pipes => Apply => Ok => Restart your PC

    After reboot both computers successfully installed the shared printer with no issues.

    Best of luck to others who continue to have issues.

    I had the same problem with 4 of my PC's. 3 were win11 and 1 win10. The easiest fix for me was uninstall the printer then reinstall. They all worked fine afterwords. I have a multiple Chromebooks and they never had this problem.

    In the end I found after reading every fix I did the following:

    Host PC with printer to share.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers\PointAndPrint
    RestrictDriverInstallationToAdministrators = 0

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
    RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled = 0

    run gpedit.msc

    Computer > config > admin templates > printers

    Configure RPC listener settings enable RPC over named pipes and TCP

    printer browsing enabled

    on the shared printer settings uncheck "render print jobs on client computers"

    reboot!

    on PC client connecting to printer

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers\PointAndPrint
    RestrictDriverInstallationToAdministrators = 0

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
    RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled = 0

    run gpedit.msc

    Computer > config > admin templates > printers

    Configure RPC connection settings enable RPC over named pipes

    reboot!

    Now the printer sharing works!

    me too, in my client computer also doesn't have configure RPC Connection setting, but in my server computer it already have it

    in my windows nt there is only 2option there was no printers and point and print
