Error 0X800f0922 when installing Windows update KB5012170

I have tried disabling the firewall and still receive the same error. Can anyone help solve this problem?

    Hello. I am too impacted with this error. i thought that it was my fault but i understand now that microsoft , as usual, do bugs, AND do not inform people that their products do not work.

    For the microsoft people, i would suggest :

    • Have thorough testing of what you wrote
    • EXPLAIN the error instead of a code mysterious, documented nowhere, and that can be 3656 different case
    • TELL on your updates the meaning (Here secure boot, so am i concerned ?)
    • TELL people using Windows That a BUG exist and so they do not do research to avoid (i spent 3 days).

    It is incredible that microsoft, a company who sell in the world, has so little case of their users.

    I long asked myself what system was using NASA to send rockets.

    Linux.

    Exactly. Especially since it comes in the wake of KB5017308 ("2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems") which failed similarly on my Asus with same error code (0x800f0922).

    Until further notice updates are now disabled with Wu10Man. Enough of this game.

    Hi all.

    I've an AsRock H81M-HDS and no solution posted here works unfortunately, Asrock does not release firmware since 2016, I have no secure boot options in the boot options, so?

    Can anyone help me please ?

    chances are you have an MBR disk

    i did, converted to gpt and update installed fine - use the instructions below

    make sure your machine can boot to gpt before attempting to covert mbr to gpt

    you may not be able to enable winre right after converting but dont worry, reboot and try the update again

    Use MBR2GPT Disk Conversion Tool To convert MBR to GPT using the built-in MBR2GPT.exe tool:

    Boot into Advanced Startup Options screen > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.

    Execute the following command to validate that the drive meets the requirements:

    mbr2gpt /validate

    Execute the following command to convert the drive from MBR to GPT:

    mbr2gpt /convert

    Restart your computer.

    Do note that MBR2GPT can only be used from the Windows Preinstallation Environment. To use it from your Desktop, you have to use /allowFullOS to override.
