How to get the update

Starting today, the first major update to Windows 11 is now available for users who want to update. Our launch approach to Windows 11 leverages our well-established update systems and processes. The measured and phased rollout will offer the update via Windows Update when data shows that your device is ready, as our objective is to provide a quality update experience. We will initially ramp up the offering availability in the first weeks as we monitor quality signals. If we detect that your device may have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we may put a safeguard hold in place and not offer the update until that issue is resolved. To learn more about the status of the Windows 11 rollout, safeguard holds and which holds may be applied to your device, visitWindows release health.Learn more about the ways to install Windows 11.

This is interesting, same on 2 machines:

After the fiasco of W.U. error 0x800f0806 following the upgrade with official MS ISO 22621.382 I restored 22000.978.

After that W.U. was no longer offering 22H2 and instead it updated to 22000.1042 with KB5017383.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Edition Windows 11 Pro

    Version 21H2

    Installed on β€Ž10/β€Ž15/β€Ž2021

    OS build 22000.1042

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.1042.0

Now it is no longer offering 22H2. 🀣🀣

I'll stick to 21H2 waiting for MS to fix the bugs of W.U. in 22H2.

It really looked like a big fiasco. 😜

Β  However, BE AWARE that the MCT & .ISO install Build(22621.382)

You need to install KB5017321 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 v 22H2 Build(22621.521) via W.U. to bring your installation up to date.

My system is showing .521 without KB5017321, but I do notice some things are not turned on, such as File Explorer tabs.

Looks like the features are not turned on by default after this update, but File Explorer Tabs was easy to fix. see screenshot below. πŸ˜‰

I'm more concerned about the bugs in W.U. with errors 0x800f0806 after using the MS official ISO to do the upgrades. 🀬

More weird stuff on this build 22621.521:

Why did I get this update? I'm in the US not UK. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
