How to get the update

Starting today, the first major update to Windows 11 is now available for users who want to update. Our launch approach to Windows 11 leverages our well-established update systems and processes. The measured and phased rollout will offer the update via Windows Update when data shows that your device is ready, as our objective is to provide a quality update experience. We will initially ramp up the offering availability in the first weeks as we monitor quality signals. If we detect that your device may have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we may put a safeguard hold in place and not offer the update until that issue is resolved. Windows 11 devices

Users with eligible devices running Windows 11, version 21H2 who are interested in experiencing the latest feature update and are ready to install this release on their device can choose to do so by opening Windows Update settings (Settings > Windows Update) and selectingCheck for updates*^2^.  For more information on the 2022 Update experience for Windows 11 devices,watch this video.*

    More information sources from the announcements today:

    1. Windows Subsytem for Android is now available in 31 countries.
    2. Next month, a new smaller update for Windows 11 22H2 would bring more features to Windows 11, like Tabbed Explorer etc.
    3. Feature updates to Windows 11 are now smaller by ~450MB in size.
    4. The next update to Windows 10, would be shipped in October.

    Used Windows Assistant to install the update on my 1-year-old laptop. Step 3 (Install) completed and gave me the option to restart, which I did.

    Restart stalled, I waited 20-25 minutes and no response. Pressed power button to attempt to restart the laptop, it went into some strange state, and I could not get the laptop to restart. Screen was black.

    I figured it was "bricked" from the update and closed the lid.

    Fast forward 12 hours later: pressed power button on laptop and the update continued to complete.

    Laptop appears to be running fine, time will tell. Only problem I have is the Cumulative Update KB5017321 has failed 3 times.

    This is the longest and most concerning update I've received in the 33 years I've used Windows.

    Hi fg2001, and team,

    I found that if you go over to the link below you can download the MCT and install the Windows 11 22H2 from within the tool. But don't boot from the Flash Drive you create. Go over on the Flash Drive and elect Setup, this way you can choose to keep ALL your programs and files. The only thing that will change is the build 😊

    Already done all that, but W.U. got in troubles after upgrading with the MS ISO 22621.382, had to use workarounds to get over the W.U. loop and error problems and get to 22621.521.

    Hi Sumit") & fg2001,

       No New Windows 11, Version 22H2 offered here yet but I did get a new build to Windows 11 21H2.

    With two new updates today 9/20/22
