Since last Windows Update "task host window is stopping background tasks windows 10" on 4 machines

Since last Windows 10 automatic update done on 8 PCs (KB5016616, KB5012170 & KB890830) 4 PCs are now showing "task host window is stopping background tasks" on shutdown.

Does anyone know what caused this?

    I have looked for this (see below) key on 6 up to date Win 10 PCs and found is no such entry. Only 1 of these PC has 'Task Host Window' issue 

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop/WaitToKillServiceTimeout

What happens if this parameter is not set?

    Since my last post re: removing all updates since July 2022 then letting the OS do its thing, still no resurfacing of issue.

    the issue has returned after mysteriously disappearing for a few weeks. no actions taken by me to get rid of it or to bring it back, a handful of windows updates in between may have resolved and then brought back the problem is my guess.

    Since the Window is there to shut down suspended processes, perhaps you have one of those that keeps showing the problem.

    I got the message once and shut the window down in Task Manager and have not seen it since.
