Windows 11 security actions recommended but none found

on windows 11 the security icon in the task bar shows an exclamation in a yellow triangle and says "security actions recommended", but when I look at them all, they all say NO ACTION NEEDED

    Windows Security -> Device security -> Core isolation

    Mine is Off, because of driver incompatibilities from Western Digital Tech (wdcsam64.sys) for my external My Book Hard drive.

    Mine is off because it prevents a lot of programs working. Eg. scientific processing (see Boinc) and Oracle Virtualbox I run Linux inside.

    Looks like yet another MS idea which flunked, just like TPM. I mean who has one of those things anyway?

    Try these steps

    1 Go to windows settings, click on privacy and security

    2 Click on windows security

    3 Click the tab App and Browser control

    4 click on Reputation-Based protection settings and enable everything there.

    *I think this might be the answer to your problem.

    I did this and in fact reputation-based protection was off, however I can't turn it on again, after I try to turn it on I get a prompt asking me if I want windows defender make changes, I reply yes, but the reputation-based protection is still off, no matter how many times I try, even after a machine reset it's still off.

    Same here on Win11 Enterprise, v. 22H2, build 22621.1555.

    Linux looks better and better each day.
