Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.

I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?

I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.

Thanks.

Same issue here. Clean install of Windows 10, then an automatic update to Windows 11 (and unwanted by the way, thank you Microsoft).

Now the icons on the taskbar keep disappearing. Doesn't seem to be a new issue either, reports have been around since mid 2021.

It was happening to me all the time too. Did a clean install of Windows 11 and still the icons disappeared. Did another fresh install of Windows 11 a few months ago because I was still having seperate computer issues and it hasnt happened for 2 months... the only thing I can think of thats different this time is I didnt link my microsoft account to the computer to sign in.

Just started having this issue after running W10 for 2 years and W11 for one year. No new software installed. All drivers and Windows are up to date. It's very random.

Also have this issue since 22H2 update. Hopefully Microsoft see the issue and put out a fix soon.
