Hi, I experienced this terrible issue with disappearing icons, which affected most of my apps, including MS Teams, Spotify, Windows Settings, Snipping tool, etc. I tried various solutions, such as deleting the icon cache, removing Iris services, and even upgrading to Windows 11, but the problem persisted. In the end, this registry fix was the one that worked for me.
Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11
I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.
I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?
I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.
Thanks.

2024-08-14T15:45:53+00:00 I have been having the same problem ever since going from Win10 to 11. I'm competent to do the registry hack but, as someone pointed out, it's dangerous. One thing I've seen is that it only seems to happen when I keep the laptop in sleep mode overnight and longer. If I restart everyday it doesn't seem to occur. I have done more than a few restarts of File Manager If there was a keyboard macro to execute it that would be cool.
