Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.

I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?

I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.

    Using a Windows 11 Pro Dell desktop. Same thing here. I wonder if missing taskbar icons occur when resuming from a sleep state. When I perform a clean boot I don't seem to have the problem - something to check out. Still, would like this fixed permanently since it has been annoying me for a while.

    I seem to have found a partial cure. I noticed that not every icon disappeared, just some. For those programs that were lacking a visible icon and left a gap, I updated to the very latest version or reloaded the app. So far this seems to have helped

    I have noticed this too when I wake my computer or after the screen goes blank for any reason my icons next to the time disappear but when I hover my mouse over them they reappear.. not a major issue but gets annoying. Running Windows 11 22H2 it didnt happen before the 22H2 update.

    Have an Intel 10700 cpu and auros 3070 video card

    Yup' same here. Windows 11 Pro, Dell XPS 8930 / 2020 Edition, i7, 16GB, Toshiba KXGNV512G NVMe. I'm a 27-year tech' in the industry, MS and CompTIA certified. I have not been able to figure out a 'fix' for this issue other than rebooting the PC or not allowing it to sleep - just turn it off if I figure that I'm going to be away from it for more than 30 minutes or so, as it boots fast anyway...

    My hunch is that it's a glitch in one of MS's recent Windows 10/11 OS updates.

    All drivers are up to date (according to Lenovo support website)
