Icons Keep Disappearing From Taskbar - Windows 11

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 a few months ago, and ever since I've been having a problem where the icons disappear from the taskbar. It happens while I'm using the laptop as well as when it comes out of hibernation.

I know this can be fixed temporarily by restarting Windows Explorer in the task manager, but this is happening several times a day and it's getting annoying. Is there a permenant fix yet?

I'm using Windows 11 Home version 21H2 build 22000.856 on a HP laptop with an Intel i5 1035G1 processor and 8GB of RAM. The problem didn't exist when I was running Windows 10.

Thanks.

    Hi, thank you for replying.

    My graphics are Intel UHD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050. The laptop is a HP Pavilion 15-cs3001na.

    I ran system file checker, rebooted and an hour later my taskbar looked like this, with missing icons again.

    Hello grains66, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    I understand that the taskbar icons randomly disappear while using the PC;

    What exactly is the model and manufacturer of your HP PC graphics card?

    Before answering this question I suggest that you make sure you are up to date with the latest version of Windows 11;

    Press Windows key + i and go to Windows Update;

    Click Check for updates and do ALL pending updates;

    Run the system file checker;

    Click on the Windows search bar and type: CMD

    The result of the search for CMD (Command Prompt) will be displayed, click Run as administrator;

    Copy and paste the commands below by pressing Enter after typing each command line:

    Sfc /ScanNow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

    Wait for the process to finish and restart the pc;

    Check if the problem has been fixed;

    I hope I helped, even more!
