Windows 11 right click explorer menu - Show More as Default

Hello!

I cannot stand the new drop down when I right click on a file. Could you please update windows 11 so we can set the show more option as the default?

Hi Brie,

You can use a small registry hack to revert to the classic context menu if you're not fond of Windows 11's fast context menu.

  1. Open a Command Prompt window.
  2. Type the following command line and press Enter: 
     reg add HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32 /ve /d "" /f

    That's absolute rubbish. You added several extra steps for me when doing file maintenance or anything remotely productive.

    That doesnt really work, to hold down shift when you right click. Considering when this post was made, it may have worked at the time but it certainly does not work now the 22H2 version of Win 11 Enterprise.

    This was a downgrade from windows 10, now I need a shortcut or an extra click for what windows always has done.
