OK everyone. My PC reverted on its own back to the windows 11 ribbon when I had the reg fix that worked with 22H2 for over a month. Windows updated and now the reg fix doesn't work any more. Its in there but no more working.. So F'd UP!!!!

I tried Method Three at this link WebLink and it worked.

Edit - It worked for a day and now my File Explorer ribbon is there but most of the buttons are grayed out. So they are sending updates to prevent us from using the old explorer??? What the heck Microsoft!!

The hardlink target changes for every update.

    For 10.0.22621.900:

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.22621.900_none_b3f510b242bd687a\explorer.exe

    For 10.0.22621.963:

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.22621.963_none_b3b7320842eb5c25\explorer.exe

Use the script here to reapply the registry setting after installing a quality update.
