Now KB5015814 won't install

OK. I tried to run updates today, 7/12. I got the exact error and reactions as when I tried to install KB5015814 that I got for the KB5014668 failure last month.

I ran scripts, tried a lot of advisor recommendations and did the in place upgrade (but rolled it back) for KB5014668 so who knows what was changed or broken then????

Does anyone have something that WILL work this time? I really don't want to spend 5 or 6 hours and get no where again.

Will an in place upgrade work or will restoring an image from before June 22 be a better option. I don't want to do that unless it's a last option.

Please don't have me run the canned things to correct an update error. It didn't work last time so I really would like something that is known to work if that is at all possible.

    .Net Framework 3.5 (includes .Net 2.0 and 3.0) is already off when I accessed the menu. I'm using .Net Framework 4.8, which has WCF services and TCP Port Sharing on. Whatever those are.

    BTW, I'm using Windows 10 but I came here because I saw that there a similar issue with Win11 and hoped that I can find a solution.

    Also, there was a time (around mid-April) when "Asus Core SDK" in Armoury Crate couldn't install updates and the proposed fix for that was to install an Aura Wallpaper which forces an update, which worked when I tried at the end of April. Could that be a factor? Because the timing is just too coincidental as my Windows update problems started in May. It doesn't help that there apparently a fix for that in May, meaning that all I really had to do was wait.

    When I tried to turn off nett framework 3.5 I got an error message catastrophic failure.

    Gave me a fright.

    The unfortunate thing about the "fixes" for this problem is some things work for some while the same things don't work for others. For others it takes multiple steps to fix it. And sadly some aren't finding a fix at all.

    I'm pretty sure MS will get around to this issue but I wouldn't hold my breath on how fast this happens. Hopefully it will be before the 22H2 update shows up or maybe that will be the fix.

    I was getting all the security and .NET Framework updates okay so the cumulative updates were/are the only thing being affected and I assume this is the case for everyone else???? So you if you have the time and energy you can keep trying what you see is working for others in this thread or just wait it out.
