Windows 11: WiFi gone after sleep

My laptop is installed with Windows 11 Home Single Language and uses the network adapter of Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC.

Every time when I put my laptop in sleep mode, the WiFi disconnected automatically, and the network adapter driver also disappeared from the list of device manager. After I restart my laptop, everything goes back to normal, but I would like to resolve this issue permanently.

I have updated the driver, but the issue still persists. Below are the images that illustrate the issue.

  1. WIFI has gone after sleep mode.

  1. When this issue happens, the WIFI icon also disappeared

  1. I run troubleshooting, it states that there is no proper network adapter driver installed

  1. The WIFI's network adapters driver disappear from the list of device manager when this issue happens.

  1. After I restart my computer, the WIFI connection back to normal, with the WIFI icon appearing and the driver appearing in the device manager.

HOWEVER, this issue comes back every time after, I put my laptop into sleep mode.

So far this seems to work! I have put my HP Elitebook to sleep and opened it 7 times and it keeps the internet connection. This answer needs to be elevated to the top answer for this problem! It is the only thing that has worked.

Another one with the same issue and it's really starting to tick me off. I have an MSI Titan GT77 with the Killer 6e ax1675i card. I've tried the bluetooth card trick, and all of the registry tricks, nothing is working. I can't believe Microsoft hasn't fixed this yet. Oh wait, yeah I can.

So driver updates and everything else in here still didn't fix my issue. I wound up buying a cheap Asus wifi dongle from Best Buy and disabled the Killer Wifi card. Since then, 0 issues. I'm just going to replace the onboard Wifi card with another one that isn't Intel. Still really frustrating that there isn't a fix that works for everyone.

Hey all, I've been banging my head against this same issue on a work computer (Surface Laptop Studio w/Win11 23H2, latest firmware, intel wifi ax200). My problem occurred when the battery completely are almost completely drained and went into sleep mode. Unfortunately for me, this computer (per company policy) had bitlocker enabled. So when the wifi would disappear, it would not come back after a reboot. The system thought the wifi adapter was disconnected however it still recognized the bluetooth adapter which I'm fairly certain is part of the wifi device. At first we figured it was a hardware failure but after a complete rebuild, the wifi started working again. I gave the laptop back to the executive and 3 days later they brought it back with the same issue, wifi disappeared and nothing seemed to bring it back. I had tried several things including uninstalling the device, sfc /scannow, dism, etc etc, but then decided to turn off bitlocker (not suspend) and disable bios security. I then toggled the bluetooth/wifi option in bios, rebooted, and wifi reappeared. I then kept testing and got it to fail/disappear again after a power drain/sleep mode and then brought it back through same process described above. After some research, I stumbled across an idea. The bluetooth device in device manager was set to turn off to save power. The wifi device by default I believe was not set to turn off to save power in a low battery/sleep mode situation (sleep on wowlan disconnect was set to disabled in the advance tab under properties of the wifi device). So I unchecked the bluetooth option to automatically turn off device to save power and went through tests of power draining/sleep mode and I can't get the wifi to disappear. My theory is since the wifi and bluetooth are parts of the same physical device, windows was turning off one but not the other in the OS and created a conflict where the wifi disappeared (disconnected from windows perspective) but windows didn't think it turned it off and that it was disconnected physically. Since bitlocker and bios security have tentacles into hardware, that made my situation even more complicated with bringing it back... Anyway, hopefully this helps with this super annoying situation.

MICROSOFT - please update your power management options and recognize when a device is shared and turn off both if one is selected to turn off for power saving in order to prevent the conflict. Thank you for listening. :)

THIS WORKED and there IS a POWER MANAGMENT tab on the BLUETOOTH adapter!

To fix: go to DEVICE MANAGER > BLUETOOTH > Right click on your Bluetooth device > Properties > POWER MANAGEMENT tab > Uncheck Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power.

    BOOM!!!! Fixed.

    Hi

    Win 10 pro 64 bit

There is no Bluetooth device setting in device manager.

Cant find the setting as there is no bluetooth device or driver on this machine

Perhaps in W11 they are available only by default.

Where in device manager is the by device?

Idont believe there are any option for its setting a power management setting of there isn't an installed device.

    Did I miss somethjng?

    Cheers
