Windows 11: WiFi gone after sleep

I got my wifi card replaced and its working perfectly fine now. Maybe its not a software issue.

Okay so I had this problem for months and finally solved this issue for myself, and I hope this solution might be useful for those that do not see power options in windows 10/11, so cannot manipulate the wi-fi properties for power saving in device manager, and at the same time have an integrated wi-fi/bluetooth card module. I think the root of this problem lies in power settings for many. It is beyond me why Microsoft removed those options at all when correct operation of many drivers still hinges on those settings and why they don't fix when so many people suffer from this issue but okay, let me cut to the chase.

So, neither the above mentioned solution, nor any other solutions mentioned on the internet like updating/rolling back the drivers, flushing dns, resetting wi-fi, or manipulating service files worked for me. I have the Mediatek MT7921 WiFi card, and I noticed this card integrates bluetooth and wi-fi together. When I go to device manager, right click on my wi-fi adapter and click properties, there is NO "power management" tab at all. But when I do the same with my Bluetooth driver, There IS!!

So, go to device manager, right click on the Bluetooth adapter, click properties and there (hopefully) you will see the power management setting tab that is missing in the wi-fi card. Untick "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" tab and save the settings, et voila! I think because it is the same actual card - and because of general windows bizarreness- changing the setting for the bluetooth driver will change it for the wi-fi card too (I assume only if the card is integrated).

As you can imagine I do not know if this works for everybody. The same problem sometimes requires different solutions depending on underlying causes. Just because it is the same symptom, it doesn't mean the same disease. Just putting this out there to try because I know how I pulled my hair out over this for months and months and this ridiculous "trick" did it for me. Hopefully others can benefit.

I noticed after your post that both my BT and network adapter were both Realtek. So I tried your fix as there was a power management tab in the BT properties. First shot, I let it sleep for 3 hours and had wifi on wake up. So here's hoping. Why couldn't MS or card maker figure this out a while ago?

Fingers crossed! And it would be great if you could let me know it it works as well, so we can spread the news. For me it has been 3 days without any disconnects! I really don't now why MS, the card manufacturer or the laptop maker cannot figure this issue out. I have a lenovo ideapad pro 5, and actually, this issue started after an update they provide, but interestingly, rolling back that update didn't fix it at all. Anyways, in my search into this problem, I have also read that people said doing the following worked for them. So, if my way doesn't work out, you can try it out (thought, it didn't do the trick for me and I don't know necessarily understand what these commands actually do).

Open "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator";

In the Command Prompt, type the following commands, one at a time and press Enter after each (so do not type them all at once) :

netsh int ip reset

netsh winsock reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

Then, Restart your PC.
