So, with 7 pages I think I went through all of them looking for the same answer but I could have missed something. I had the same issue with Windows 10 and I had previously found a solution. Sadly though I did not save it and after upgrading to Windows 11 I have spent the better part of a year trying to find the solution again. Alas, I found it! I applied it last night and just minutes ago upon opening my laptop I am thrilled to say I did not have to restart my laptop. Here are the steps and a link to the Windows 10 support article I found.
****CAUTION: Altering registry settings can irreparably damage your system an result in a need to restore from a clean install***
Despite the caution, as long as you don't alter anything other than what is described below you will be fine.
Steps:
- Press Windows + R and type regedit, then press Enter.
- In the registry go to the following address:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20\7bc4a2f9-d8fc-4469-b07b-33eb785aaca0
- Within that registry key, double click on "Attributes" and change the value to 2. (Note: By default it will have the value set to 1)
- Then restart your pc and let your PC go into sleep mode overnight to see if your problem is resolved.
