I am struggling to get Phone Link on windows 11 to utilise the headset I use for my PC as the speaker and Mic for calls made/received in Phone Link.
All my drivers are up to date, I am using Astro A50s which work for all other aspects of mic/sound (these are wired to base, 2.4ghz wireless, so not bluetooth headset) and a Samsung Galaxy S21.
Sometimes when I receive a call, the phone notes that it is using the PC for bluetooth output, and I can hear the the audio, but the mic doesnt seem to work.
Would love for this to be resolved so I dont need to change headsets everytime I want to go from Zoom call to phone call.

2024-11-17T15:43:17+00:00 Well, Shamus6564, if I have to stop what I'm doing on the screen, open up Settings', go to Sound, and re-configure my playback device ... I think I'll just pick up my phone.
My feeling is that software should be helping me, not the other way around.

2024-11-17T15:29:29+00:00 Just to clarify your answer I am adding a picture of the Sound Settings that are located in the Control Panel. It has been a while, but I think if you right click on the sound device that is marked, and disconnect, and then double click the device, aka the Sony Headset and then connect. Somehow there is a way to set it to default, just can't remember how off hand.

2024-11-15T21:37:26+00:00 You could use your Sony headset if you select that as your default audio device. The problem is that Phone Link will not let you select a device to use, only using whatever you specify as a default device in Windows. Phone link doesn't care what that is.
What I would like to see is an option in Phone Link to select the preferred audio device to use by Phone Link, just as I can do in Skype, Webex, Zoom, and every other application one can use for communications.

Why can't I use my Bluetooth headphones on my PC to get calls from the Phone Link app?
The Phone Link app does not currently support relaying a phone call from your Android device to a headset over Bluetooth.
I would like to clarify that the bluetooth connection for Apple phones are not supported either. It was when I first downloaded the app but then an update happened and now my headset doesn't work. My phone is connecting with options to use headset, computer or speaker, but my Sony headset does not work.
