After updating the bios, im unable to activate windows 11, which was already activated. You're telling me I can't update the bios without windows freaking out. I paid for this product and now the only thing the troubleshooter is telling me to do is to just buy another product key. How the hell do I go about fixing this since windows services is just an utter joke? I'm constantly having to deal with fixing **** issues with windows 11. This product is a big joke. The "get help" app does nothing but direct me to exactly what their windows activation page is on the website.
Contacting support did nothing. They told me it's not their issue. Quality service M$

It appears that maybe the only way reactivation works is if you are logged into a Microsoft account and not a local account. Reinstall license files by running the command slmgr /rilc in Terminal (Admin) AKA power-shell/Command Prompt. "Note the space in the command". You will then see it reinstalling the license files. Restart, go back to activation in settings, Troubleshoot activation, Then click "I changed my hardware"
So dont bother trying to buy a new license from the MS store if you have this issue. They scam you and charge you, dont give you a license, and you're stuck without activation the same as before.
I'm having the same problem. Upgraded a MSI PRO-Z690-A-DDR4 from BIOS 7D25v14 to 7D25v1A and lost activation and MS refuses to let me re-activate with my old license.
Even flashing back to the old BIOS was useless.
Well that explains a lot of things. I know you can backup the security keys somehow. I updated from MSI Z690-A V1.80 to V1.90 without issue now from V1.90 to V1.A0 the activation was gone and had to resort to my trusty old Windows 7 Ultimate box to activate again.
What a PITA...
I think it may have to do with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) I think security keys get deleted
