After updating the bios, im unable to activate windows 11, which was already activated. You're telling me I can't update the bios without windows freaking out. I paid for this product and now the only thing the troubleshooter is telling me to do is to just buy another product key. How the hell do I go about fixing this since windows services is just an utter joke? I'm constantly having to deal with fixing **** issues with windows 11. This product is a big joke. The "get help" app does nothing but direct me to exactly what their windows activation page is on the website.
Contacting support did nothing. They told me it's not their issue. Quality service M$

Exactly. I feel thoroughly annoyed that the MS representatives don't understand the issue at heart. Doing a BIOS update IS NOT A HARDWARE CHANGE! It's ridiculous.
Exactly. Bios upgraded and now windows activation is gone. If that's the case MS should let us know.

Thanks, however I wouldn't call that a solution, it's more like a workaround or even software piracy. I'm not going to run any random scripts from the internet on my PC if I'm not 100% sure what they do.
Also I would believe this is a widespread issue for setups which use fTPM. The same thing might happen again later in another firmware update. In my opinion Microsoft, AMD and motherboards vendors should communicate and provide a solution. Especially since TPM is a hardware requirement for Windows 11. Basically I'm running into issues because my setup is compatible and I'm trying my best to keep everything up to date, which is recommended by MS and pretty much everyone else.
Yeah, it might be futile to post here and expect an official fix, but I'm not going to give up yet. I'm not going to buy another activation key either.
I got this issue too.
4y old PC I built myself, originally W10 Pro but later I upgraded the OS to W11 Pro. Last weekend I decided to update BIOS from version 4802 to 5003 (motherboard = Asus ROG Strix x570-E Gaming). In the BIOS changelog it says:
I use Bitlocker, which I suspended before the update (recovery key is already backed up). After the update the motherboard prompted me to reset the fTPM to keep using it. OK, not a problem, I had to recreate my Win Hello PIN and log in again to couple of apps etc.
However, later that day i got the "Activate Windows" watermark at the lower right corner of the display. On closer inspection it says the hardware has changed (error code 0xC0EA000A)... yet the hardware is exactly the same as before. Activation troubleshooter is unable to fix the issue. I checked the list of devices on my Microsoft account, and the PC with the activation issue is shown twice.
I created a support ticket via "Get Help" app. Yesterday the ticket state has changed to "Resolved". No-one has contacted me at all and the issues is still there.
How do I get this fixed? A simple firmware update should never invalidate a legit licence.
I was under the impression that MS linked the CPU id to the license? The BIOS serial shouldn't change from a simple firmware update!
