Any solutions known? I've looked and nothing has worked so far but they are old posts. This has been a problem for years now and the muppets at microsoft have done **** to fix it.

Just the one crash today. It showed I had video.ui.exe running at the same time but I don't know what it was referring to. I had no video playing or streaming at the time. I did however have BF3 with venice unleashed reality mod running. It happened about 3 1/2 hours ago.

I'm hoping it's done for today as I have a show tonight and I can't afford to have it crash then.

All games etc. I have installed are only on the C drive. My external drives only carry my music and movies etc.

**Update - I tried to fire up steam and it kept crashing. Unfortunately I forgot to write down the issue that popped up.

I did a reboot and tried again. Steam fired up no problem but there was a brief pop up that said Steam User interface updated.

There was an Office 16 Click to run extensibility component and licensing component update during the crash.

Now I checked to see if my updates were still turned off like I had set. I can't see. Windows advises "Something when wrong. Try and reopen Settings later." And the screen is black.

Lastly, when it did crash earlier I had a game open in Origin not steam but steam launcher was in the background. Probably not connected but this is the easiest way for me to make notes.

Definitely all interesting points, but unfortunately mine seems to have nothing to do with having games running so I'm kind of at a loss there.

I ran another sfc scannnow just for kicks and giggles and it found a corrupted bthmodem.sys.

TL:DR - Microsoft has failed in it's years of support for its community.

I have been also dealing with this for months, and since my screenshots from the reliability monitor is the same, no reason to drag it on further.

I have scoured the web to find a fix, and to no avail. I have tried multiple search engines and type:
"Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1011. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.

    "

I have come to accept that Microsoft knows of this issue and come to 2 conclusions:

    1. Microsoft knows of the issue, and does not know how to fix it.
    2. Not enough people are having the issue/complaining so it's set on the back burner.

I have 2 HP laptops, identical. When I get reports ready for work, i know I best save every 5 min or lose all my precious work. If I'm playing League of Legends or any other game, I can expect that I'm going to restart.

I have reached out to HP for support but they say it's a Microsoft issue and want me to pay for an extra service even though the laptops are still in warranty. Microsoft won't fix the issue, so my hands are literally tied.

Microsoft, you have me in a tight spot with this issue. I have used windows since 3.1, I have purchased every new version from 95 to windows 11. Back in the day, support would do everything they could to help. Now, we get nothing more than helpers that are not even paid by Microsoft.

Microsoft, if anything I'm very disappointed in your false commitment to help those who actually purchased your software.
