Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1011. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation crashes PC

Any solutions known? I've looked and nothing has worked so far but they are old posts. This has been a problem for years now and the muppets at microsoft have done **** to fix it.

Day 3 of full on use, and well over a week since a gameinput crash. Deleting all of the Xbox bits seems to be the way.

But yes, kind of a stitch up as regards gamepass. For what it's worth, I've found that as long as you have a desktop shortcut to a game which you've downloaded through gamepass, the game will still work after Xbox app, gameservices etc has been deleted... assuming you haven't uninstalled the game too, of course! Bizarrely, uninstalling the Xbox app doesn't uninstall the game, it just sits there on your hard drive...

Fantastic tip. I guess at least this way I can play games without having crashes.

Hopefully somebody from Microsoft checks out this thread, seems like a pretty cut and dry Xbox issue.

So after over a week I just had my first bsod. Same IRQL not equal message, but no mention of gameinput in reliability monitor. Analyzing the minidump it's still the "ntoskrnl.exe+417d40". As I couldn't mind much else I went digging into the event viewer and found that the only event leading to the crash were two services being installed (I believe from defender)

    Service Name:  MpKsl0457f635

    Service File Name:  C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Definition Updates{87705871-E780-49DA-8E92-12653DA3C8A9}\MpKslDrv.sys

    and

    Service Name:  MpKsl48a86e28

    Service File Name:  C:\Windows\system32\MpEngineStore\MpKslDrv.sys

    followed by this

"The start type of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service was changed from demand start to auto start."

In less than a few minutes later the system crashed.
