Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1011. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation crashes PC

Any solutions known? I've looked and nothing has worked so far but they are old posts. This has been a problem for years now and the muppets at microsoft have done **** to fix it.

    I have been facing this issue for over one year now and I eventually noticed it might not actually be related to the Game Input. Yes, Game Input reconfigure is always there after a crash/restart but it is also there if you manually restart your computer. In addition it appears that it reconfigures Game Input <after> the reboot, therefore I don't think it is the one causing the crash.

    I've tried everything, nothing works. It really looks like we have a few pieces of hardware that are just not compatible with Xbox application?

    I never had this issue until I installed Xbox app and Age of Empires IV to play with Gamepass.

    Yes, I also was told the faulty Ryzen CPU was the culprit. So others with the same error messages, pls take note.

    Just to add my own two cents, the main things I needed to remove were Microsoft GameInput (the thing causing the crash) and Microsoft Gaming Services (which presumably is what re-installs GameInput when you remove it). My system still has various Xbox apps installed but hasn't crashed since I removed these two applications. That said, I can no longer use GamePass either, so that's a bummer, but better than freezing my computer once a day.

    This is how I removed Gaming Services.

    Grab your minidump files:

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and copy them to another location

    Then open them in WinDbg Preview :

    https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9PGJGD53TN86

    File => Open dump file (select a dmp) => open => click/run !analyze -v

    After it finishes you should see an IMAGE_NAME field (for example mine is ntkrnlmp.exe)

    This is more or less what you need to research/ask about.

    Hey, I'm feeling your pain! Can I just ask what type of processor/motherboard you're using? Just trying to figure out if they're are any correlations...

    I'm on a Ryzen 5900x/X570.

    I was thinking similarly, if it happened to be a Ryzen incompatibility.

    I'm running a Ryzen 7 3700X on a b450 (msi board)
