Windows 11 Install error - 0x80073701

I'm trying to install the 2022-07 update for Windows 11. Every time I try it gets to 35% the I get the following error message & it tells me to retry.

2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems

(KB5015814). Install error - 0x80073701

I'm not a computer expert so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your detailed reply. Unfortunately, you lost me at the SFC and DISM. I did restart and it tried to update but reversed course when something went amiss. I'm 74 years of age and am not a total novice at this. But, I'm not that knowledgeable either.

    Can you please tell me what those two terms mean?
