I'm trying to install the 2022-07 update for Windows 11. Every time I try it gets to 35% the I get the following error message & it tells me to retry.
2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems
(KB5015814). Install error - 0x80073701
I'm not a computer expert so any help would be appreciated.

I tried all the steps and nothing worked. Was getting ready to re-install Windows 11 (online tech had recommended it).
Really did not want to do that. Read about Windows 11 new feature coming out in November 2022.
Early this morning, got a notice from Microsoft it is ready to install.
It installed it, rebooted the computer a couple of times.
All the update errors have been solved and computer running well.
Under Feature Updates at it said was:
Windows 11 installed...
Assume it could be a newer verson of Windows 11..
i have the same install error - 0x80073701 and it keeps telling me to retry and it won't let me update
btw it keeps saying updates failed all i wanted to do is play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)
and it keeps saying that my pc is in windows 8 when I'm really in windows 11
I've tried everything that it tells my and it just keeps saying I'm in windows 8 for some reason
Yes, some said stopping or even uninstalling Malwarebytes permitted them to complete the update, however, not is all cases...I tried that myself. I believe there are multiple discrepancy contributing to the actual error generation of 0x80073701... I'm just glad the one I found solved my problem... And I haven't had a problem since, all later updates installed seamlessly...

I found the cause was Malwarebytes running in the background, simply stopping this from running, rebooting cured my problem. It's possible others may have a similar issue with their antivirus.
