I'm trying to install the 2022-07 update for Windows 11. Every time I try it gets to 35% the I get the following error message & it tells me to retry.

2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems

(KB5015814). Install error - 0x80073701

I'm not a computer expert so any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Rick

    Hi,

I had the same problem. I first deactivated Malwarebytes but this did not resolve the problem. I then turned off .Net 3.5 and restarted my device. Then installed the 2002-07 Cumulative update KB 5015814 for Windows 11 via Check for updates and IT WORKED !! It took longer to download and install than usual but IT WORKED. I then reactivated .NET 3.5 and Malwarebytes.

For me it sounds it was a problem with .Net 3.5 since deactivating Malwarebytes only did not do the job.

    I hope it helps others.

Finally! A fix that actually worked for me!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The JC_H .NET 3.5 solution worked for me being unable to update KB5016629. I did not turn off malwarebytes that I have installed and running.

    Hi folks

i tried almost every solution in this forum and some more things - nothing worked.

I got malwarebytes deinstalled, net 3.5 turned off, inplace installation, everything else...

    BUT

at last i found the solution above of cna_ray (THX!!!) working!!!

btw: I completely deactivated (not deinstalled!) malwarebytes and avast antivirus before doing the inplace installation (i don't know if this was necessary!)

I think the only thing which REALLY made the difference was switching OFF the windows updates before the inplace Installation ("...doing later not now"), and doing these updates AFTER the new inplace update installation!

That worked, nothing else did before...
