Microsoft GameInput Application Reconfiguration Crashes Win 11 PC

When playing any of my games launched through Battle.net my entire PC will crash, when checking the Reliability Monitor 100% of the time the crash is preceded by a "Successful application reconfiguration" of Microsoft GameInput. I have zero need for GameInput and for what I play I have no issues when I uninstall GameInput, but Microsoft forces the install each time my computer restarts.
I've looked for this issue an is appears it started for users with Windows 10 but there's no solution ever found. Microsoft support has people check their drivers, etc (all of my drivers are up to date and Windows is fully up to date) but no actual solution is offered. As far as I'm concerned I own my computer and should be able to determine which services I do or do not have installed on my PC but Microsoft is forcing this buggy install and I am unable to delete or otherwise modify the root folder this application is contained in.
I'm desperate for some sort of solution to this problem and it would be great if Microsoft would fix whatever this issue is. Having to remember to uninstall this app every time I want to play a game on my gaming PC is frustrating.

2022-07-10T21:57:52+00:00 I was struggling with this for about a month, with GameInput crashing my Windows and rebooting, though with me it wasn't just during games but several times a day at random, when I came across this post. I followed all the steps from Mosken other than the last one to repair corrupted files, but the Windows Update brought it back on me as well and I had to re-remove the folders. So I'm pausing Windows updating to a specific day, and once a month setting a calendar event to do all these steps again the day after each time.
For me, the pausing or turning off of the updates failed to make a difference. The muppets have made it so it gets "updated" or "re-installed" regardless. Thus still crashing.

2022-07-22T12:37:29+00:00 This problem is becoming untenable with a reboot recently occurring whilst I was in the middle of an important exec presentation. My 6 month old Windows 11 PC is now rebooting about once a day seemingly as a result of this game input redistributable. It happens sporadically during games, but more annoyingly, during work Teams calls. I'm not sure if it will help anyone identify the issue, but the reboots generally happen a few minutes into the first Teams call of the day.
I have tried all of the steps listed here and elsewhere, hardware tests passed and all drivers are updated, BIOS flashed to latest version etc etc but no avail. Also, have tried uninstalling all "input" related software, such as Logitech + and Capture, for example. No dice.
Come on Microsoft, this is getting ridiculous, please can we have some official help here?
Should I just clean install Windows?

2022-07-24T07:33:55+00:00 Was having the same issue. After reading this thread, I tried the powershell commands. I was also able to remove the Microsoft GameInput and the XBox application from the Apps and Features list. Restarted several times and they have not come back. Will see how this goes.
I found the problem was increasing to several times per day. I found the association with the Game Input updates in the "View Reliability History" window. The succssful Microsoft Game Iput reconfiguration happened at the same time as the crash every time.
