MSN account blocked due to user name.

Well, I was just blocked for the same reason. My username are my initials. I appealed but haven't heard back. By the comments here it sounds like it's futile. I'm guessing it was a moderator who took exception to my point of view. Nice to see freedom of speech is alive and well *cough*. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but it's really annoying that MSN moderators can just ban and walk away...especially when they've made it impossible to say anything offensive even if I wanted to.

I wouldn't be surprised if I magically become "unbanned" on November 9th. Unbelievable.

I totally agree with you that something is indeed very wrong. I am getting the feeling that the messages we received, telling us the decision was overturned and would be able to post again soon is not a real message and there is actually no-one doing anything about it. I now think it is an automated response and has no real meaning. Maybe I'm becoming paranoid!!

@ Ry Da - I totally agree with you; an explanation would solve our queries. I also noticed the Comments facility is unusable, all it says is that you can read but not comment. You are also correct regarding the "help" sections (that's a joke) as they are a total waste of time - I've tried every link, every page, every option. Like you, to speak to a real person you would need to go to their headquarters, or phone the US - even then if you did phone you would probably be put on hold!!!

As I've said before, I've been told now since 20th July that the decision was reversed banning me and I would be able to post again "very soon", whenever that is. I really do feel that you should have an explanation why your posts "violated" community guideline, so then you would not make the same mistake again. As for me, I just want to know why my REAL name, which I have always used, suddenly did not "meet community guidelines". I appreciate that some usernames may be a bit risqué, but somebody's actual name being unacceptable is truly weird.

Like you, I would also like to be able to make one post, explaining to others why I did not respond to them, because my real name is against guidelines! The whole thing is completely bizarre.

It's crazy that they can just lock a thread and not give any information about the problem.

There is no chance of contacting anybody from MSN or Microsoft because these chat nows and help sections are a complete waste of time for this specific problem as for trying to talk to a real person it would probably be qucicker to fly to the USA and stand outside their HQ.

I can't even post because I'm blocked from commenting because of my user ID.

I have appealed successfully for over a month and it’s still blocked.

I think it’s a bug or something as some one said it’s been happening for years.

How did you become a moderator? Any chance you can kick this forwards and get it sorted?
