Windows 11 with AX210/AX211 unable to see 6GHz network using the latest drivers.

I recently bought a new Asus 6E (6GHz) router, and I have four newer laptops with Intel AX210 and AX211 wireless cards installed, all running Windows 11 or Windows 10 Professional.  Two of these computers came with Windows 11 Professional and the AX210/AX211 wireless cards new, and the other two were upgraded.

None of my computers can see the 6GHz network.   I know the network is broadcasting because my S21 Ultra can see and connect to the 6GHz band.  I've tried the latest manufacturer driver 22.130.0.5 and latest Intel driver 22.140.0.3, and neither of them can see the 6GHz network.

In my search for help, I found this previous post Solved: ax210 window 10 21h2 not showing 6GHz networks - Intel Communities and tried the recommended older 22.45.1.1 driver and it worked.  However, 22.45.1.1 was only provided by the Microsoft Insider program to enable initially enable Wi-Fi 6E support in Windows 10 and is over fifteen months old.

This doesn't seem like a hardware issue since my phone can connect to the 6GHz network, and my computers can connect to the network using the older driver.  I even verified this by purchasing a different Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz) router to confirm it wasn't a router issue.  However, I still can't see the 6Ghz network using any other version of the driver.

I have a help ticket open with the computer manufacturer, router manufacturer, and Intel but thought I would ask here as well since it seems like a software issue.

    I've given up on the 5570 and have just placed and order for a Precision 7670. If it works I'll update the thread.

    I've been having similar issues with my Intel AX210 card on my Aorus 15P-XD laptop. My Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908U) runs perfect on my Xfinity XB8T router on WiFi-6E and gets around 1200mbps down without signal issues.

    The laptop originally came with the AX200 card, so I bought the AX210 and swapped it out. I had tried the 22.45.1.1 drivers and it seemed to pick up the 6ghz channel right away. However, the connection was spotty and would drop, then reconnect. The issue persisted if I was 2 feet from the router or across the house. I have tried combining the SSIDs of the 3 bands as well as separating them to their own dedicated channels to isolate the 6ghz signal; the poor connection was not worth the ~2x speed increase.

    I got so fed up with it that I just stuck with the latest drivers and decided to stay on 5ghz until there is a stable driver or alternative solution. It seems several other people on the AX210 card have this issue as well on other laptops.

    I'm currently on the Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Channel and have been battling/googling this issue since July; currently on Build 25267.

    OK, I took a break getting my Dell Precision 5570 to see the 6GHz SSID on my Meraki MR57. I used the Dell Command Update linked above and when it was done, I had driver version 22.170.2.1 dated 8/31/2022. Unfortunately, I still can't see my 6GHz SSID unless I remove the drivers and install version 22.45.1.1 dated 3/3/2021.

    The Precision 5570 does not support Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz) although Dell's advertisement contradicts this. Member Allan-D has a Precision 5470 which does support 6GHz.

    So I have a 5470 at home and a 5570 at work. Brought the work laptop home this weekend just to test this and sure enough the 5570 didn't see the 6Ghz network while I type this from my 5470 connected to it. For the record both machines are almost identical, both have a i7-12700H with 16 Gb of RAM. Both list as having a "Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160Mhz" card. In the "Advanced" tab of that device there is a "Channel Width for 6Ghz" on both. But the one big difference is Windows: the 5470 is Windows 11 and the 5570 is Windows 10. If I have time next weekend I'll throw another nvme into the 5570 and try Windows 11 but based on what I see thats the only thing I can think of that is different and might be the issue.

    As for @DPS99 I wonder if it's the US/Canada thing also.

    As a aside if my 5470 goes to sleep when it wakes up it no longer sees the 6GHz band at all and falls back to the 5GHz. If I reboot the 6GHz connects right up. So there is definitely some goofiness going on. Still haven't had a chance to boot up the 5570 with a new SSD to test Win11.

    Having had both an XPS 9520 and Precision 5570 neither of which support Wi-Fi 6E 6GHz, Dell’s response is that the XPS does not support 6GHz because of the antenna design does not support it.  Seeming how both systems are based on the same platform and chassis, it seems that the antennas are the same in both systems and therefore the 5570 is also incapable of 6GHz connectivity.   Dell’s response for the Precision 5570 was that Intel’s Management Engine doesn’t support 6GHz and is unable to be turned on at present.  Either way, I fell that Dell has intentionally disabled Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz) on both of these systems and maliciously advertised this capability to consumers with bait and switch advertisement tactics.  I highly recommend that if you live in the US, that you take your complaint to the Better Business Bureau, that was the only way I was able to return the system past the 30 day return window.
