Windows 11 keyboard lag. Nothing fixes it

This problem started about 2 months ago. It effects both the keyboard and the mouse. I am using a wireless keyboard.

Logitech MX710 I have used this keyboard successfully for about 3 years. My previous keyboard also Logitech wireless worked for about 5 years before I replaced it. I have reached out to Logitech and they do not have any drivers to use with their unifying receiver. I have checked so many helpful hints online that I have lost track of how many times I have tried each of them again and again.

I have tried the following steps:

reloaded drivers from windows, windows update, and computer based.

Removed keyboard filters

Changed repeat rate from medium to fast

Ran Keyboard troubleshooter

ran DSIM.exe /online /cleanup-image / restorehealth

ran sfc /scannow

restarted computer

Still have a very slow - skipping - laggy keyboard.

    Thanks! I grabbed a USB extender cable so that my receiver sits under my monitors. The mouse and keyboard are now working perfectly!

    Thanks to schuylercat for posting. I moved the wireless keyboard and mouse dongle from behind the PC to a USB port at the front of the PC. It solved my problem. THANK YOU !!!

    I eventually found the same information and resolved the issue in a similar way. I moved my computer so that the keyboard and mouse are less than a foot from the from the USB receiver and have not had issues since. It is almost beyond believe that this was not identified as an issue during the development and implementation of the USB 3 standard, and a wireless keyboard and mouse are probably the most common use case for USB ports.

    I came here for advice, and like many people experiencing this issue, nothing worked. So update this, change that, blah blah, nada.

    I went to the Logitech site and was prepared for a fight...and read in their fix list:
    4. Move the device closer to the USB receiver. If your receiver is in the back of your computer, it may help to relocate the receiver to a front port. In some cases the receiver signal gets blocked by the computer case, causing a delay.
    5. Keep other electrical wireless devices away from the USB receiver to avoid interference.

    Dang. For the last 3 hours, all lag and stutter: gone. I am using the extender cable that came with my keyboard. Who knew?

    Anyway, my $0.02.
